Driver Application
Eleets Trasportation is committed to creating and maintaining a safe business environment for our employees, contractor/fleet drivers, customers, and the general public. We pay special attention to pre-hire qualifications, current driver training and safe driver retention.
Safety starts prior to leasing drivers. Our minimum qualifications include:
- Drivers’ age requirements: 23 years
- Required License: CDL, Class A in the state where the driver resides
- Required Experience: Must have at least two years verifiable tractor/trailer experience
- At least 1 year must be within three years from the date of application
- Medical Requirements: Driver must meet US DOT medical and drug / alcohol requirements
- Violations: Drivers may not accumulate more than three moving violation and/or accidents within the last three years
- PSP Reports: Repeat driver and truck violations will not be accepted
- All applicants are “graded” on our internal company scale
Immediate Contractor/Fleet Driver Disqualifying Violations:
- Felony within past seven years (certain felonies are not eligible for hire)
- DWI, DUI within the past five years (If committed in a commercial vehicle, applicant is disqualified)
- Manslaughter or negligent homicide involving a motor vehicle
- Hit and run
- Violation of Out of Service Orders w/in the past five years
- A preventable recordable accident in the past 12 months
- Fleeing or attempting to elude a law official within the past 10 years
The safety department reviews the following reports to “pre-approve” a driver:
- Motor vehicle record
- DAC employment
- Drug / alcohol records
- Pre-employment screening reports
- Criminal
- Social security & CDLS
- Once the driver is pre-approved safety continues the investigation process by contacting each past employer
